A word from the founders

Prof. dr. Angelė Lileikienė

Dear members of the Lithuania Business College community—lecturers, students, alumni, and social partners,

Today, as I look back on the path Lithuania Business College has traveled, I recall the year 1994 with special emotion—the year the idea was born to establish a higher education institution where young people could not only acquire knowledge but also discover their professional paths, and develop a sense of responsibility, self-confidence, and a drive to create.

The beginning was filled with faith, determination, and a sense of responsibility. At the time, no one could say for certain how our chosen path would unfold, yet we were convinced of one thing: Lithuania would need educated, proactive, and entrepreneurial people who believed in their country’s future. Thus, founding the College was not merely a professional undertaking for me; it was a decision rooted in values—a commitment to strengthening the restored Lithuanian state by investing in the individual, their knowledge, and their abilities.

Over the course of more than three decades, the world, technologies, the business environment, and even the very approach to higher education have changed. Yet one thing has remained constant: the essence of higher education is the individual—their curiosity, their ability to think, to ask questions, to seek answers, and to take responsibility for their decisions.

That is why I am especially delighted to see that, today, Lithuania Business College is so much more than just a place of study. It is a community where experience meets youth, theory meets practice, and tradition meets new ideas. The work of the College’s lecturers, researchers, students, and alumni demonstrates that knowledge acquires true meaning when it serves as a foundation for creation, change, and improvement.

As the founder of the College, it is deeply meaningful for me to see that the idea conceived over three decades ago remains alive today. It lives on through the people—those who studied, taught, created, led, and conducted research here, strengthening the College through their daily efforts.

I sincerely believe that the future of the Lithuania Business College will be shaped with the same sense of responsibility that defined its beginnings. I trust that the new generation of the academic community will maintain the courage to embrace change and the ability to harmonize innovation with values, and academic knowledge with the real needs of society and the business world.

I wish to thank everyone who has been—and continues to be—part of this story. Your work, your efforts, and your belief in the College constitute its greatest value.

We began with an idea in 1994.

Today, we see the results.

And tomorrow, I believe, will be shaped by those who boldly step forward while upholding what matters most: respect for the individual, for knowledge, for work, and for Lithuania. With respect and sincere pride in the journey of the Lithuania Business College,

Angelė Lileikienė, Founder of the Lithuania Business College
