Lithuania Business College Strengthens Social Partnerships in the Tourism Sector: International Students Explore the Activities of the Vilnius Tourist Information Centre

On October 30, international students enrolled in the Tourism and Entertainment Business Industry study programme at the Vilnius Study Centre of Lithuania Business College (LBC) visited the College’s new partner, the Vilnius Tourist Information Centre. During the educational visit, students gained insights into the organisation of tourist information services, destination promotion strategies, and professional internship opportunities. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge with practical experience while strengthening cooperation between LBC and representatives of the tourism sector.

During the meeting, students were introduced to the activities, key functions, and administrative procedures of the Vilnius Tourist Information Centre. Particular attention was given to visitor information services, the promotion of tourist attractions, and the presentation of tourism products and experiences. The discussion also covered internship opportunities, the development of professional competencies, and the skills required for successful careers in the tourism industry.

An important part of the visit focused on modern tourist information solutions and interactive visitor experiences. Students had the opportunity to explore and try out interactive activities available at the Centre, gaining practical insights into how Vilnius, its cultural heritage, and tourism potential are presented to visitors. This experience highlighted the importance of technological innovation, creativity, and high-quality customer service in shaping an attractive and competitive destination image.

The students were accompanied by Adrius Steponėnas, Study Development Coordinator at the LBC Vilnius Study Centre. Direct interaction with tourism professionals enabled international students to gain a deeper understanding of the Lithuanian tourism market, explore its operational principles, and assess how their academic knowledge and professional competencies can be applied in real-world working environments.

The new partnership with the Vilnius Tourist Information Centre contributes to LBC’s commitment to strengthening the connection between academic studies and professional practice, expanding cooperation with tourism organisations, and providing students with greater opportunities to explore their future professional environments. Such initiatives are particularly valuable for international students, as direct engagement with representatives of the Lithuanian tourism sector broadens their professional perspectives, enhances their understanding of the local labour market, and supports informed career planning.

LBC extends its sincere gratitude to its new partners, the team of the Vilnius Tourist Information Centre, for their warm welcome, the opportunity to explore the Centre’s activities, the valuable professional insights shared, and their cooperation in strengthening students’ practical preparation for future careers.
